History

A marriage in switzerland he decided to make a trip to a far-away lands as a celebration of their 50 years of age and to visit at the same time known that they had come from Switzerland a year before to acquire, 30 ha of land, on the coast of Río de la Plata, in the Spa Jaureguiberry.

During your stay, Hans & Huldah Bärtsh fell in love with our landscape deciding, before his return to Switzerland, to buy three acres of land. It was in the month of February 1996. After his return to Switzerland, Hans & Huldah, began the paperwork for the transfer of your business – as a result of 20 years of effort – your daughter and your family, and start the preparations for their migration to Jaureguiberry in Uruguay.

In the year 1998 is born the original draft of what is now a Resort Village in switzerland. In those times the land acquired was nothing more than a dense forest, with no roads, water or electricity. For three long months Hans, next to a young uruguayan, he cleansed the land of shrubs, discovering little by little the charms of the landscape, which were owners. In parallel, you made the first access roads, electricity and drinking water wells.

Then begins the construction of the first bungalow. More young uruguayans were incorporated into the working computer, thereby enabling the construction of bungalows in the following year, as the workshop and laundry facilities.

In the year 1999 brought with it the realization of the indoor swimming pool heated pool with a waterslide for children and a jacuzzi with hydro massage, transforming into the heart of the complex with great acceptance on the part of guests, especially the shorter, making of Swiss People in Jaureguiberry a tourist destination for the whole year.

In the year 2000 were built two bungalows double more, completing our current offer of accommodation with a total of ten bungalows, four two-bedroom apartments to six people and six one-bedroom to four people each. Every year was to improve the beautifully landscaped surroundings and is appended to the garden game for children and recreational areas.

By that time the rent bungalows improved day-to-day, following suggestions and requests from our guests regarding the construction of a gastronomic complex with a supermarket and restaurant on site. This desire became a reality in the year 2001 with the arrival of Irene (daughter of Hans & Hulda) and her husband Jürgen Reichert, professionals in Hospitality & Gastronomy. By then decided to try his luck in Uruguay, taking the reins of the restaurant and pizzeria, a “Swiss People”, where they concentrate in addition to the areas of information, reception and reservations, allowing People to Swiss offers a comprehensive, high quality service throughout the year for public and tourist business.
